• Solid colors are best. Avoid busy patterns and bright colors; they will draw attention away from your face.
• Darker clothing tends to minimize body size.
• Clothing with simple lines look most professional. Suit and tie are recommended for men.
• Long sleeves are recommended as sleeveless tops and short sleeves will make your arms look larger.
• A vee or scooped neck is best if your neck is short and your face is full.
• A turtleneck or high-necked garment is more flattering if your neck is longer and your face is slender.
• Avoid low-cut and strapless tops for yearbook poses; the yearbook standards may require cropping close enough that no clothing is visible.
• Take time to check your hair to make sure it looks neat and natural. This is not the time to try out a new hairdo.
• Men, we recommend getting your hair cut about a week before the portrait sitting.
