 This school year
is going by very quickly. Commencement isn't that far away. Now would be
a good time to schedule a portrait sitting for additional senior pictures
or to take pictures with your family and friends. Members of our Senior
Portrait Club do not have to pay for additional portrait sittings.
Before you head off to college, come into our portrait studio with your
siblings, your friends, members of your sports teams or members of clubs
you participate in. You can have cap and gown pictures taken if you
haven't done so already.
Don't wait until the last minute because you will be plenty busy when May
and June roll around.

Sports Team Pictures

Do you have a student athlete at the Shaker Heights
High School or the Shaker Middle School? We have taken team and
individual pictures of the Fall and Winter sports teams.
We have special team photos of the senior athletes as well.

This
past month, the ProEventPhoto photographers were at the Shaker Youth
Hockey Association's Killer "B" hockey tournament at Thornton
Park. We were also at the Ohio High School Figure Skating Championships
at Pavilion. We were at B'Nai Jeshurun for confirmation pictures and took
photos of couples at a private corporate event at the Galleria.
We went to several real estate agencies to take professional headshots of
realtors. And, we returned to the Early Childhood Enrichment Center to
take pictures of children who enrolled since we were there last Fall.
During the weekend of the miserable Winter weather, we valiantly went to
The Night for the Red and White fundraising gala for the Shaker Schools
Foundation to take pictures of the couples. That weekend, we were also at
the Cleveland Skating Club to take pictures of groups and individuals for
their upcoming Ice Show.

Warrensville-Van
Aken Redevelopment
|
|
|
|
 A preferred
alternative for redeveloping the Warrensville/Van Aken intersection was
presented at a Feb 29 public workshop. This alternative was developed
based on analysis by the consultants over the past five months and
feedback from the first two public workshops.
Key elements of the proposed draft plan include:
Changing the six-way intersection at Chagrin and Warrensville into a
standard four-way intersection;
Reconfiguring Van Aken to extend straight east between Farnsleigh and
Warrensville;
Reconfiguring Northfield to connect with Warrensville near the Post
Office;
Maintaining the rapid transit line in its current diagonal configuration;
and
Extending the rapid transit line through the Chagrin/Warrensville
intersection to a new transit/bus terminal near the University Hospitals
Administrative building.

The times, they are a changing.
According to a recent trade newsletter, for months there have been
rumors Polaroid Corp. was going to discontinue its instant film, but no
official confirmations. The Wall Street Journal substantiated the
rumors and reported Concord, Mass.-based Polaroid is shutting its
remaining U.S. film plants in Norwood and Waltham, Mass., in March, and
will get out of making film for its instant-picture cameras by the end
of the year.
Polariod is shopping its technology and a sale could result in a third
party making film for Polaroid products.
Another era in the the photo industry comes to an end.

VHS to DVD $9.95 Special
|
|
|
|
To
introduce our new, in-house VHS to DVD capability, we are running a $9.95
special for the rest of March. Bring in your VHS tapes and we will
transfer them to DVD. We can complete the transfer in 24 hours.
The normal price is $24.95 for a two hour VHS tape. For our introductory
special, there is no limit to the number of VHS tapes we will transfer at
the special price of $9.95 per tape.
We are not permitted to duplicate copyrighted, professionally produced
tapes so please don't bring in your Dora the Explorer tapes.
This special doesn't last for very long so dig out those old VHS tapes
now and bring them on in before they turn to dust.
